I am unable to check out a vehicle

If you are facing issues checking out your vehicle registrations, carry out the following checks to see if any of these help:

  • Ensure that you have the exact correct registration ensuring you're not mistaking any characters (such as O instead of 0)
  • Try the registration both with and without a space in the registration (i.e. 1234 ABC or 1234ABC)
  • Check with the office or one of our Support agents that you and the vehicle are registered under the same branch/depot and as to whether you're able to check out vehicles from any branch or not
  • Check that nobody else has your vehicle checked out - this can be checked on the MMW portal and can be force checked in by an office user so you can check it out
  • Check that the vehicle is in the active vehicles list, if it is in the inactive list it will stop it from being used
  • Ensure the vehicle status is 'Active' so it can be checked out - office staff can check this for you
